Taping Your Hockey Shin Guards
Hockey players need their equipment to fit securely and comfortably. Hockey shin guards are typically made with 2 or 3 straps that fasten the shin guards to your legs. But, in order to ensure that the shin guards will not move out of place during play, most hockey players use clear plastic tape over their hockey socks or inline hockey pants to secure their shin guards even tighter to their legs. In addition to minimizing slippage, the shin tape also compresses the hard plastic shell of the shin guards so that they are contoured to the legs of the person wearing them.
