Definition of the Toe Drag

The toe drag is a move that hockey players perform by simply dragging the puck on the ice with the toe of the stick blade. It can be an effective move to use when an opposing player is trying to steal the puck from you by poke-checking or sweep-checking at the puck while you're carrying it. Toe dragging allows you to quickly pull the puck back towards you and out of the defender's reach.
