Like the LT60 before it, the Vaughn Ventus LT68 junior chest and arm protector is designed to work with the natural movements of the goaltender's body to optimize flexibility while providing superior protection and maximum net coverage.
Extra large shoulder floaters have a wide profile to increase blocking surface area. This not only provides great coverage, but also offers great impact dispersal, keeping shocks away from the shoulder joint. An HD foam sternum plate rests over the heart, offering tremendous protection to the critical heart area. The angled block design on the belly padding aligns the chest pad flex points with natural body movements, maximizing the mobility and fit of the LT68. This, along with a lower-belly pad flap, adds flexibility to keep the chest pad properly aligned while making quick movements.
The arms are anatomically designed to align the arm caps in a precise location for increased protection. This design also more effectively holds the arm padding in the proper position to improve protection and provide a greater blocking surface. The elbow joint hinge has been redesigned on the new Ventus, mimicking the design of the pro model. This provides more thorough joint coverage while offering excellent mobility. The internal lining on the arms and chest pad is water resistant to prevent weight gain and to facilitate faster drying.
The back padding features high-density foam padding over the spine and a dual buckle waist strap attatchment for security and a more precise fit. The positioning of this unit over the body can be adjusted via a lacing system on the back of the shoulder, affording young goalies great customizability of the fit of the LT68.
