Rated 4 out of 5 by from forgot how nice wood feels I ordered this wood stick to do some off ice practice. the wood stick takes the abuse of concrete surfaces far better than the expensive fiberglass sticks. during a game, I broke my fiberglass stick and grabbed the wood stick and instantly fell back in love with it. the weight is minimally noticeable. but the feel is ten times better. I try to go back to fiberglass now and then, but I really like the feel of this wood hockey stick. I see zero difference in shot strength/speed. but puck control and passes feel so much better and I have less passes hope over the blade. I know it is all in my mechanics, but somehow with this stiffer, heavier stick, my mechanics instantly improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable for a wooden stick Playing D, I break a lot of sticks either taking slapshots or grinding along the boards. This is a wooden stick and WILL break faster then a composite, but considering it's 4-5 times cheaper, you come out ahead. I'm 15 games into this one, and starting to get a hairline fracture in the fiberglass where the shaft meets the blade. Probably another 5 before it breaks. That's still 1/2 as durable as other composites I've used. Definately reccommend stick wax to protect the bottom of the blade. Water is a wooden stick's worst enemy. Stick weighs 1.5 lbs, which is .5 more than my composite. Also it is an inch shorter. I used 1/2" friction tape to create the handle butt instead of my usual inch, so not much of an issue for me even though I'm 6'. Love the feel of a wooden stick. Worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too short I've been using the Sherwood 5030 stick two games a week for 20+ years and loved them. Never had an issue until this particular model. I had ordered 5 of these on line, got them delivered, and not just one but all of them were short by about 1.5 to 2". I also noticed that every stick has easily cracked along the joint were the blade attaches to the shaft. I do not know if this particular model was manufactured at a different plant than were they're normally made, but the quality is sub par from what I've been using.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from stick doesn't have the flex as the featherlite made in canada stick feels stiff, not as much flex as the featherlite, this stick is made in the Ukraine, the other is made in Canada witch is much better,Personally Iike the model made in canada

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light but SHORT Love the lightweight feel but TOO SHORT! Mishandled way too may pucks while playing with this stick. I bought two of these and it looks like I'll be using these for stick handling practice without skates on. I'm only 5'11"-6'0" without skates but with wheels under me this stick is way too short for an average hockey player.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classic This is the "classic" wood stick. It has a nice weight and feel and is also durable and has a decent build quality. The price has gone up on these in recent years, and the manufacturing has been outsourced. I don't think they are quite as good as the Canadian made sticks, but it's still my preferred wood stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More solid than a composite I'm an amateur skater and I prefer the wood sticks I make better passes, puck handle better, shoot better and most importantly receive hard passes more consistently. The Sherwood is my favorite wood stick. The price is also much lower though I normally break 2 or 3 per season.
