Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for all level of players The Grit 36" bag is a great help for players of all levels. The wheels are well placed and don't seem to tip the bag when turning corners. The specialized compartments help keep gear in it's place and is much better when its time for getting ready than digging through to the bottom of a traditional duffle style bag. There is a mesh type panel that allows the gear to breathe and has helped cut back the intensity of "after game gear smell". The foot panel is wonderful at keeping your socked feet from getting wet spots during changing. The graphics are eye catching and add a "wow" factor from the moment you open the shipped box. This truly is a great investment for all hockey players, no matter the skill level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grit Tower Bag SE My son has gradually been moving up to larger sizes in all his pads. We had the Grit Intermediate Bag before and it was becoming a pain to fit all his gear. While this bag feels much larger to lug around it makes storing all his stuff much easier. We considered switching to a regular duffle type bag but I like that there is a spot for everything in the Grit Tower. You can quickly run through the compartments to make sure everything is accounted for. He is glad we sized up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If price were no object... Great. Like bringing your own personal locker with you to the rink. See it all there on shelves. Not have to get your feet wet on the spit-upon floor. Easy to check before leaving home that you packed everything. Convenient pouches, places for rare-use items like spare laces. Wheels WORK! I'm in Israel. Some tough ground/road rolling. But they're a pleasure. Sticks fit in/out so easy and fast, I sometimes even put them in just for the walk in from the parking lot. No more digging for the water bottle. Easy to take one out to have and drink during the ride to the rink. Much better than the Reebok/CCM version, imho. Grit's been doing this bag and doing it, and improving it. This is maybe the fourth iteration. They've really got it right. The helmet shelf, for example, isn't straight across at the bottom. It doesn't need to be - your helmet needs nowhere near as much vertical space as your skates do. So, that horizontal bottom is pre-divided and supported to fold down from the helmet on each side. Which helps the skates nest in tighter and stay put better. Also, the helmet part sort of has a lip. I keep five pucks there under my helmet. Haven't spilled out a single time. And I pack the back in upside down, almost every which way. Cramming into the trunk, or walking down aisle on busses is not perfect. A few times I've been on a bus that a bar on the aisle was slightly too narrow. So had to shimmy sideways. And packing it in back of an SUV with three or four other bags (on it's back) it sticks up and blocks a lot of visibility out the back. For those reasons, if money had been no object I'd have wanted the new Grit Tower 5. The more twistable/collapsible one. But, it was just out when I bought. So I hadn't found many reviews of it yet. And didn't have access to see/feel it myself. More importantly money IS an issue. That version 5 coming out brought this version down in price to where I felt comfortable buying this one. Glad I did. (Though I definitely have seen the advantages of the 5.) I'd considered a top notch shoulder carry bag. Or a regular or even top notch standard shape wheel bag. With this, I don't have to bend over after I'm fully dressed to pick up my gloves or a spare puck to take to warm up. Sure, that's not as tough as picking up a stick that fell on the ice, but I'm an older player. Bumps and bruises on the ice are one thing. But don't make me exert myself too much off it! Important point for me: I carry my bag two flights of stairs up and then back down after each game. This bag has a perfect strap for that. It's not padded, not that wide, but it reaches my shoulder just right, and the back it totally maneuverable up or down the steps, with the sticks still attached. Then the straps easily shortens to not get stuck on anything during loading. What would I change about the bag? Not much. Bring down the price of the version 5, maybe. I still haven't gotten my hands on it to know how stable it sits, when taking out equipment, say, in the wrong order. Mine is 100% stable. has never tipped over. But, even at the rink the aisles for the changing area would be easier with the twistable/collapsible 5. And, if you're using the bag to travel with, such that airline weight restrictions start to matter, the 5 is much lighter. Oh, and I might have the interior mesh bag be slightly larger. It fits hockey socks, jock plus, and base layer top. But it has to stretch to also fit the jersey. They could almost add a whole second mesh bag, to hold clean underclothes for afterward. Grit really seem to take pride in their product. And it does NOT feel like a product made to make a quick buck. Only had it a couple of months. But seems to hold up well enough. (I am pretty careful with it.) It's GREAT for on the bus or the commuter train. On some of those, everybody looks at everybody else, and noticed my old bag and my sticks balanced in the corner. This stands unobtrusively, doesn't roll around (usually - depends on the crazy bus drivers a bit) and is easy to grab a drink out of then return it. Or even to take out one skate and re-lace it enroute. In case you're wondering, the drink pockets easilly hold two 1.5 liter bottles, even the taller form ones. Probably with room left over for a third. And it's a sturdy enough material that I would put a third in if I drank THAT much. The id pouch is large and tastefully done. Personally the folding aspect hasn't helped me much yet. But does not hurt in any way. It's everything it looks in it's advertising and on its website to be. I'm really glad I bought it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken strap after 4 uses My wife bought this bag for me after I got really excited about seeing it online. Unfortunately if you plan on carrying it by the strap he won't be able to. The part that attaches to the back ribs off very easily. Even after I found a new location to attach it to the bag it ripped off on the other side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT! This is a well made, easy to use product. I do wish they had kept the water bottle holder in the front pocket, but otherwise it is just what we were looking for. It makes my son WANT to put his stuff away nice, neatly, and organized so it can all dry out properly.

Please help Me!!! My son is a 6 year old mite. I would like a bag that will last and is easy for me. What is the best option? What is the difference between the HTSE HT1
Asked by: Shannon_1588
The HTSE folds in half for easy storage and shipping. The HT1 is exactly the same but does not fold.
