Stick Technology

  • Axenic Technology
The word Axenic means "free from contamination." A new manufacturing process to seamlessly co-mold the shaft and blade of a Hockey stick.
Axenic technology removes the traditional joint and stress riser (or contaminant) from the slash zone and at the same time:
    • Removes unnecessary weight from tip section for improved balance and better feel
    • Increases durability and the feel of the stick
    • Allows shaft and blade to work as a unit for better feedback

  • SmartPly Technology
    High Pressure Manufacturing
    • Produces consistent wall thickness and limited resin loss for a more durable and consistent.
    • Carbon weave exterior for added strength, durability and resistance to cuts and abrasions
    • Inner layers used to control torsional stiffness for better feel and stick control
    • Material used for added impact strength and dimensional stability
    • Undirectional material controls stick stiffness/flex
  • SmartFlex Technology
Graduated flex profile for optimal performance and feel in all game situations.
    • Softer flex in the butt end section adds leverage/zip on wrist shots and increases feel for better stickhandling control, passing and pass reception.
    • Stiffer tip section allows for stability and accuracy when taking slap shots and face-offs
  • Active Bond Technology
Have you ever had that stick or blade that when you first get it has great pop and a super feel only to have it go dead after a short period of time? Active Bond Technology addresses that issue head-on.
This technology maintains blade stiffness over a longer period of time compared to other blades/sticks in the market place, which means you have the pop and great feel longer than products without it. This is accomplished by:
    • Incorporating a 100% carbon fiber rib that connects the front face and the back face of the blade
    • Allowing the front and back surfaces to move and work in the same manner during impact situations
    • Use of a unique foam core technology with high impact strength that won't break down over time

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't Last!! Bought this stick after the guy at the Madison store talked me into it. It is really light and has decent feel. However, it didn't even last 2 months playing once a week. Over the weekend I was playing in an open hockey and looked down that the blade was broke in half. I was not happy after spending $150+ for the stick. I have had other sticks that lasted seasons. I I will never buy another GEAR stick again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome This stick is really light and strong. My shots are on point and passes are making their way through the defense and right to my teammates blade. Slap-shots are really well rounded, not losing any power with a half wind up. One-timers are wicked quick. Overall this stick is as good as the others at this price range, maybe work on the coating cause it was coming off with a fingernail (sisters...)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing It gave me everything a top of the line stick would give. Reminds me of the original total one, but a little lighter. Very light stick with a wicked slap shot. Stick handling was amazing and overall a stick well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stick & Super Light It's only been a few games so far, but I love this stick. Super Light, and has improved my stick handling speed! Also ive noticed a quicker release off my blade when taking wrist shots. It was a steal on sale...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AWFUL! Terrible kick point, not especially durable, shoots the puck like a sandbag. It's a waste of money!

What's the length from the heel to the top of this stick? Says 61" but not sure if that was top to toe..

Asked by: Ricky
61" is the measurement from the heel of the stick to the top. The blade is not included in the overall measurement.

hello, is there any way that you can make the sticks with the old Yserman curve pattern
Asked by: Ron_2363
We would love to be able to produce additional patterns, but the demand for the Yzerman curve isn't high enough for us to be able to justify adding it to the production line. It was certainly difficult to narrow down the list to the 6 we offer, but these
