The 7mm felt EVA foam tongue provides excellent comfort, fit, and additional protection. An injected surlyn midsole increases support for enhanced blade-to-boot interface.

A SpeedBlade 4.0 holder gives 4.0mm of increased height off the ice for an enhanced angle of attack and a greater turning radius. These skates feature SpeedBlade Stainless Steel runners will provide a long-lasting edge for long-term performance.

Customize your fit. The Tacks Ice Skates include a fit-system footbed. . These insoles increase comfortability and durability which allows for better player reaction. The Duratex liner improves durability and moisture management. The vented-fiber-nylon composite outsole boosts stiffness for energy transfer and reactiveness.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I purchase these skates back in February to replace my old Vapors. I thought by the price and history of the Tacks line that I was getting a great skate. They felt great when I tried them on and even better after having them baked. I started having issues with them shortly after, when I started playing in them. I began getting severe pain across the top of my feet after wearing them for more than 20 min or so. It was not a lacing issue, as I started leaving the laces extremely loose after the pain started and it still would not go away. Believing that they just needed to break in, I dealt with it for a few months. By May I gave up when nothing changed. It seems like the boot is too shallow causing the tongue to push down too much and the sides to pinch the top of my foot and cause the pain. Like I said, they felt great in the beginning and I bought them in the same size I normally wear after getting my foot measured to confirm. Just beware of fit issues that may develop down the road. I contacted CCM and asked if they could help.....but of course they did not. $400 down the toilet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice skate Good skate. only skated in them a few times but no foot pain at all. They are nice and light compared to my old skates and seem to be breaking in fast. great product at great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Middle Of The Line That Perform Like Top Of The Line These are absolutely fantastic skates. They where comfortable from the first use without any heat molding and conformed to my feet after only about seven or eight outings. The boot is very supportive and protective and it is very light for a middle of the line skate. The tongue is nice and thick with lots of padding to prevent lace bite. The holder and blade perform as well as any other on the market and I can corner even better than with my old skates.( from another well known manufacturer) The holder is slightly stiffer than the ones on my old skates but it only toke a few minutes to readjust to them. The contour on these is slightly more forward than on my old skates but that combined with the attack frame seem to give me slightly better jump and maneuvering on the ice. I replaced the inserts with the superfeet from my old skates to make them even better in comfort and response. You can heat mold these puppies for even better instant comfort and they'll feel like your wearing slippers. I am old school and prefer to break my skates in gradually although it only toke a few games for mine to feel like I've worn them for years. One top of all these great things to say about these skates they look awesome and a lot of my fellow players have commented how sharp they look. I highly recommend them for any of you beer league guys up to semi serious hockey.

What's the difference between 5052's and 4052's? Not sure which to purchase?
Asked by: scrap_5767
The main differences between the two are going to be in the boot of the skate itself. The 5052's are going to have a stiffer quarter package that is going to be more reinforced and offer you better overall support. The 5052's will also be lighter than t
