There are two great things about being "The Custom Goal Company". First - when you earn that reputation, it means that you'll go over and above to meet your customers' custom pad needs (and Brian's certainly does that). Second, because they do so much custom work, they've got their finger on the pulse of what goalie's want and need in their next set of gear. Armed with this desire to serve and the knowledge of what goalies need to succeed, the designers at Brian's put these ideas - along with a few of great ideas of their own - into the Gnetik Pro 3 leg pad for 2016. You'll love what they've done with it.
One of the first things that you notice about the pad is that it has no lacing visible on the pad face. The Gnetik Pro 3 is laced from the inside of the pad so the face maintains a crisp, clean look. Brian's durable Primo synthetic material is used on the toe binding to protect the pad in this high wear area.
The GNetik Pro 3 features Brian's new Hybrid Flex Core- the softest break that Brian's has offered to date. In addition to a softer vertical flex than the original Gnetik, the Pro II also has better rotational flex as well. These features are great for goalies who want the pad to move with their leg no matter what direction it goes in. Of course, the entire pad is made with Brian's own lightweight "E-Foam".
The knee lock has been made wider, and the SBA material on the original Gnetik has been replaced with the more durable Primo material (which also aids in pad rotation as well). The double elastic knee lock strap can either be worn directly across the knee, or it can be attached to the calf wrap to create a more open, Carey Price style knee cradle setup. New for 2016, the GNetik Pro 3 features a Hex Air knee cradle. The molded Primo synthetic knee cradle maximizes air flow and comfort with both standard and open cradle options and it is wide enough to provide a very stable landing platform when going into the butterfly. New this year, customers can request either a hard (great for those who prefer a more rigid landing pad) or soft (great for beer league goalies, or those who need a much softer landing pad) knee block when creating their custom pad setups. The leg channel of the GNetik Pro 3 is constructed of a X-Static airknit throughout to provide anti-microbial properties that eliminate odor and bacteria. Also the Gnetik Pro 3 leg pads come with a full, detachable knee and thigh protector instead of the typical laced-in thigh guard that typically comes with most pads.
The calf wraps are tall and wide, and the outside flap is now segmented at the top so that it is more flexible when the goalie goes into the butterfly. Of course, the popular Smart Strap elastic and velcro attachment system comes standard with the Pro II's which has all but eliminated the need for traditional leather leg straps (though the can be used if purchased separately). The entire leg channel is lined with Brian's gray SBA material which gives the pad better responsiveness as the goalie moves his/her legs.
The boot of the Gnetik Pro II is also lined with Primo for extra durability, and it also features Brian's new Smart Strap attachment system. This system consists of two elastic straps at the toe, and one nylon and velcro strap at the boot that is made of the same material found in car seat belts. After over a year of testing, the designers at Brian's have found that this system is easier to use than toe ties, it is more efficient, and it performs better than toe ties as well.
