Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good skate for beginners I purchased this skate for my first season of ice hockey as an adult (having not skated since I was a kid). For this purpose, they worked very well. They are comfortable out of the box, without baking, and seem pretty durable as well. They don't offer much protection, and shots to the feet hurt. As an advanced skater, I've been told I don't know what I'm missing out on from more expensive skates, so I've decided to upgrade. That being said, I will be keeping these as a good backup skate and I highly recommend them considering the low price. If you are playing in a novice league, twice a week or less, these will do just fine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent Beginner Skate I got these skates for starting out brand new to ice hockey and they were great for their price. Mine didn't fit perfectly(ordered online and wasn't able to try skates on anywhere first) but they did just fine for working on my skating and learning to play, were decent for low level league/pickup play. The protection is very bad compared to more expensive skates though, the first time I took a slapshot to the ankle from a better player at a pickup game I thought I had broken my ankle for sure. If you're looking to get started without dumping too much money in to your gear all at once then these are great for until you have the money to upgrade your skates. If you have the money to go with more expensive skates now, though, I would recommend looking more in that range. The protection will be much better and you'll definitely feel the difference in skating as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect First Pair I bought these skates for my first pair of ice hockey skates. New to Ice I wasn't aware that I needed to sharpen them so I skated without sharpening. I obviously recommend getting them sharpened. However, the boot itself is more comfortable from any inline skate I've owned. I went with Bauer because the popularity of the name and it highly paid off without breaking the bank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for beginners and mid-level skaters I bought these for myself and have to say the product exceeded my expectations. Well, how much should one expect from $40 skates. In fact, they are 1) very light-weight but solidly built , 2) comfortable, 3) predictable. I am not a pro skater but skate every winter and I am glad I bought these skates. Would certainly recommend these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great beginner/returner skate I am 33 and haven't been on skates since I was 17. These are good to test the waters and see if you would like to skate or get back into it. I got these to take my 2 year old skating. They are a solid fitting skate and comfortable. Since getting these I have recently bought a full pad setup and plan on getting back into hockey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh yeah. These skates were my very first pair and I was happy about them ever since I took them out of the box. Awesome padding throughout the entire skates. Extremely comfortable. Really really great skates for beginners. Highly recommended. The style of the boot is pretty cool too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good quality and service. And best price Shopped with grandson who knew the pair of skates he was looking for. Found them after a short search at other business and these were exactly what we wanted at the best price . We ordered very late for Christmas delivery and did get them on time. Very pleased

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good beginner boot I bought these because the deal was too good to pass up. Mainly for use at pick up and stick times. They are soft and a bit more roomy than the Vapors, if you have bigger feet. Won't give you much protection, but for the price, they simply can't be beat!

Would this be a good skate for a kid age 12-13 who skates 2-3 days a week. But has a VERY strict budget of lowest possible to maybe 90 or 100 if I get lucky.

The One.4 Skates aren't a bad choice for beginner skaters. But, if you're playing at a competitive level, A, AA or higher, the boot will likely wear down in one season or less because players at that level put a fairly substantial amount of extra stress o
