Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent skates At age 69, one doesn't normally spend this much money on a pair of hockey skates, but I am so glad I did. I simply skate better with the Bauer Supreme 190s. They are very stiff, but they are also very comfortable and I am still in the process of breaking them in. I especially like the way the tongue fits and feels. The skates are incredibly light and well-constructed. Surprisingly, they are made in Thailand. The strings that come with the skates are much too long, so I switched to a pair of 120" waxed strings. Justin Barney, the manager of the Monona, WI store, baked the skates for me and sharpened the blades. His expertise was invaluable in me choosing the correct skates. The one concern I have is not with the skates, but with the runners that one can install in the holders. The 190s come with LS3 Edge runners (10ft turning radius) and I decided to purchase LS2 Edge runners (9ft turning radius) as well. The LS3 runners are very easy to install and remove, but the LS2 runners, as measured with a micrometer, were 3 thousandths of a inch thicker at the front of the runner and would not fit easily into the holder slot. I actually had to use a rubber mallet to force the front of the runner into the holder to seat it properly so I could lock the runner into the holder. In conclusion, the Bauer Supreme 190 hockey skates are terrific and I am a better skater because of them. My goal is to be the only 69 year old hockey player on the ice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Skate! I replaced a pair of old (soft) Bauer Supremes 2000's from 1991, with the 190's. Very happy with the the the 190 skate. After heat molding and first time on ice... Experience was terrible with the 190's... I tied them up to high, plus they had not been profiled. Big mistake! Was like a baby duck on a frozen pond. Got the blade centred and profiled to a 8.5/9.5 from something worse/longer than a 13, which appeared to be the standard out of the box. Laced them one eye lower and boom... Big improvement! Very comfortable and much more efficient skate. the stiffness of the boot is not an issue.... You just need flexibility (forward/backward) to get the knee over the toe of the skate to get the power from the skate. Definitely a great skate. It's taken about 3 skates since profiling to feel real comfortable. With the heat molding and adjustments I can certainly feel improvement in my power, speed, turning radius, and stopping. Wish I had these in Junior/University!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real Nice Love these skates...essentially the MX3 skate with different steel and a different tongue (same tongue as APX2).

I've heard from a couple of reviews that the laceeye holes were falling out after some use. Does this happen often that you know of? And is it different from the mx3 lace holders? I'm looking for a boot that'll last but not break my bank as much as the mx

I haven't heard of anyone having issues with the eyelets on any of the new Supreme skates. The MX3 skates actually have what Bauer calls an "injected stability lacing system" that it borrowed from the APX2 skates. This means that the eyelets aren't rive
