For 2015, Bauer has designed the Reactor 9000 catch glove with several key improvements over its predecessor, the Reactor 6000. The 9000 keeps the traditional 60 degree break, allowing for thumb-to-finger closure, but has introduced a new shape to the front of the glove. Lacing up the entire break of the glove defines the break point more and allows the glove to close easier. The two piece cuff remains, catering to the "battle-fly" goalie who wants maximum glove mobility when playing the puck or making saves.

The internals of the glove have also experienced upgrades. The palm now contains Bauer's Poron XRD foam to significantly reinforce the area while maintaining a game-ready feel. The inside hand features Ax Suede Quattro +, which enhances the comfort of the glove and allows for unique coloring options. A three strap design that places hand straps over the wrist, backhand and fingers allows for optimimzed customization of the fit of the glove.

The backhand design is comprised of HD foam over the fingers and keeps the Free Flex Cuff. The cuff design allows for maximized mobility of the wrist, perfect for active goaltenders.

The Reactor 9000 features a new graphics package for 2015, adding a fresh new look to the Reactor heritage.

Keys to a Proper Fit:

  • The goalie's fingers should extend out to the end of the finger stalls of the inside palm to ensure a proper fit. However, any more than 1/2" from the tip of the goaltender's finger to the end of the finger stall and the goaltender will not have the leverage needed to properly close and control the glove.
  • The heel of your hand should line up with the heel and cuff of the catcher. If not, the proper balance between the cuff and catching portion of the glove may be disturbed, making the glove too cumbersome while sacrificing protection.
