Skate Fender Pro Transparent Hockey Skate Guards

The PRO Skate Fenders are made of an even higher grade material that is stronger, more impact resistant, and is slightly lighter (not enough to be noticeable) and a bit more flexible. Impacts on the PRO models are even less noticeable than the Standard as the polycarbonate of the Pro model actually dissipates impact energy over a broader area. The PRO models are a smoke gray transparent tint.

Initial experience.
May 12, 2016
My initial experience: easy to attach and I did not notice them during my skate. That is a good start. I have not been hit with the puck yet, so I am unable to comment on the effectiveness.

Great protection and not in the way
April 4, 2016
I ordered these the day after a major scare after taking a slapshot at close range when I could barely put any weight on my foot the rest of the 3rd. Luckily my ankle remained ankle sized when I removed the skate, and it was just a horrible deep bone bruise. As D, I get hit a lot, and my skates have shown it. Of course, the two seasons I've had these I don't think I've been hit in my feet somehow… but unlike my neck guard I got after taking a rare puck to the neck that I stopped wearing as it's so awkward, you don't even notice these as they're not in the way at all, so I do wear them every game as I know the first game I don't, I'm going to take another hit there…. A forward teammate even bought a pair after taking one too many hits for the extra protection.
Pros:
safety, not in the way

My 13 year old looked at them and said why? He knew what they were. I was just thinking he was ready for the NHL. ;-) I could rate them higher, but he has not even tried them on yet.
Pros:
pros wear them

Feet protected!
March 10, 2016
Still limping slightly and feeling the bone bruise of a shot to the foot four weeks ago. In fact, I was hit four times in two weeks so I decided to get the fenders. Now I feel protected. I've been hit a few times while wearing them and felt no pain. I did have to trim the bottom straps that were dragging on the ice, but otherwise, easy on and easy off. I hardly notice that I'm wearing them. Soon, everyone will be wearing them.

They work great
January 9, 2016
They work great and don't interfere with my skating. I can't tell I have them on. I play defense and have taken many picks off the ankles. I noticed one of the guys I play with had them on and I asked him what they were. I went online and bought them the next day. Great Product and recommend them highly.

Fenders
December 26, 2015
Straps are a little awkward to use. They are hard to secure and hang down on the ice.

Very light and protective, I don't know I have them on unless I look..
December 19, 2015
Very light and protective, I don't know I have them on unless I look. I have a couple screws in my ankle and was looking for a little more protection in that area, so far so good. I have not been hit with a hard shot as of yet and hopefully won't, but these give me a sense of added security.
Pros:
Light weight. Easy to put on. Good fit with no movement.

A must for all defensemen...
March 15, 2015
I purchased these skate fenders after taking a puck on the inside of my skate, which resulted in a six week recovery period. Wearing these the first time back on the ice, I took three pucks off them, they performed as advertised. Light weight with great protection. I highly recommend.
Pros:
Light weight with solid protection.

Feel a lot safer
March 15, 2015
Bought these after taking to point blank slapshots in the foot. One ending in a bone bruise. The stake fenders offer a lot of protection and mental security. They have only one gotten in the while crossing over. They are very easy to get used to and it's like they're not even there.
Pros:
Light weight

Skate Fender Pro Transparent Hockey Skate Guards
February 24, 2015
The fenders fit snugly on my skates and so far I've had no problem with them coming loose. However, the velcro straps are a bit imperfect. This is going to be hard to describe. If you tighten them all the way, there's barely enough strap left with the velcro material to stick. I've settled for not tightening them all the way to make sure there is enough velcro material on the straps to stick to itself. Fortunately, the plastic part is so snug on my skates, that they seem to stay put even if the velcro straps aren't as tight as possible. I've notice the NHL players that use these have snaps on their straps instead of velcro. If this is the "Pro" model, why don't they have snaps like the ones the NHL players wear?

Fantastic product
December 13, 2014
These give you the confidence to play all out without the fear of getting injured on a play. I now want the puck to hit me on a Slapshot. If you have a top level pair of pants and shinguards with this product on your skates you feel like a tank. The product weight is not very noticeable after you get used to it. I don't know what it ways in grams but if I had to guess it feels like The weight of a clear Roll of hockey tape on each skate. maybe a little less than that. You get used to it because you get stronger. One nice thing is if you stop the puck with your skate on a hard pass and some shots it stays close to you and does not bounce that far away. if your( Senior skates size) is 8+ or a extrawide skate make sure you get the larger size. If you have ever hesitated to block a shot get this product you will become fearless on the ice.
Pros:
No more pain on my feet on block shots or slashes. You become fearless to block shots. I know the price is a little high but it is 100% better than a broken foot and not being able to play hockey.

Must have for shot blockers!
January 3, 2014
After almost breaking my foot blocking a shot, I decided to buy these. They are awesome! Have more than paid for themselves already. I have taken at least a dozen shots off of these already, you barely feel it. I am starting to notice a lot of NHL players starting to wear them as well.
Pros:
extra protection
Cons:
none

I have 5.5 EE's, which size should I go with? Thanks!
By Customer Service on April 1, 2015

Answer:
The Small/Medium (skate size 4.0 - 8.0) will be the best fit.

By AVD from mid michigan on March 8, 2014
It looks like the compact pro covers the ankle bone better, which I definitely need (because I keep getting hit there), but I also want the side protection of the standard fender. What do you suggest.
By Customer Service on March 10, 2014

Answer:
The ankle coverage is about the same, but the standard comes down a bit further on the lower portions of the boot.

I wear a Bauer size 8D skate
which would be better S or M?
By Customer Service on November 26, 2013

Answer:
They'll both fit, but the Large/X-Large will be a bit bulkier than the Small/Medium.

By Ryan from Chicago, illinois on March 9, 2014
I wear bauer 5.0's size 9 EE would the large-extra large be to bulky
By Customer Service on March 10, 2014

Answer:
The Large/X-Large would be the correct choice for you. They'll fit very well on 9.0 EE Skates.

By Robert from Anchorage, Alaska on December 14, 2013
I own a pair of Bauer Vapor 15 E size skates. Would these fenders actually fit my skates?
By Customer Service on December 16, 2013

Answer:
It would be a bit of a stretch. With a little bit of modification you may be able to make them work, but of course that would nullify the product warranty.

By Dave from Toronto on October 2, 2014
I am an 8.5D skate.
Will the small/med be too small?
I don't want them to bulky, but I don't want them to too tight either...
By Customer Service on October 13, 2014

Answer:
Large/X-Large would be the right choice. The Small/Medium would likely be a bit too snug. The fenders aren't too bulky though. If we still had your size in the Skate Fender Compact Pro, that would be the best choice because it is as described, more compact. But the regular Skate Fender Pro shouldn't give you any trouble.

Do these fit Junior size 4?
By Customer Service on December 4, 2013

Answer:
Yes, the Small/Medium size will fit.

By Leroy from Boondocks, MN on March 23, 2014
Would I be correct in saying these go over the skate on the outside?
By Customer Service on March 24, 2014

Answer:
Yes, they are attached to the outsides of the skates.

What is the difference between the pro model and the full standard?
By Customer Service on September 1, 2015

Answer:
Per the description, this is what Skate Fender says about the Pro:

The PRO Skate Fenders are made of an even higher grade material that is stronger, more impact resistant, and is slightly lighter (not enough to be noticeable) and a bit more flexible. Impacts on the PRO models are even less noticeable than the Standard as the polycarbonate of the Pro model actually dissipates impact energy over a broader area. The PRO models are a smoke gray transparent tint.

i wear a size 7 1/2 EE bauers, what size fenders do I need?
By Customer Service on June 9, 2014

Answer:
4.0-8.0 will be the best choice.

By A from Michigan on September 10, 2014
It seems that the compact comes up further to protect the gap tto the shin pad compared to the full size. It that correct?

By Customer Service on September 10, 2014

Answer:
The two models come up to the same point on the front of the tongue under the shin guards, but the Pro comes up a bit higher on the sides of the ankles. Hope that helps.
