I've been doing stick handling in the garage with it and wanted to really give it a go, so I played it in an adult league and the darn thing held up! Blocked shots (couple dings), took slappers, wristers were epic with the blade shape. Overall didn't break (one game) and its heavy, helps for before game warm ups. I didn't give all I had, but for playing a good pick up or an adult game should do the trick. Thought it would be a bit stiffer, kind of flexible.
- Heavy (for practice) - Rad blade shape.

Great Street Hockey stick

I play in a mens league 2x a week and these sticks take a beating but keep on performing. Durable and curved just right and the proper length for my 5' 9" body type.

Great Inline/Asphalt Stick
August 9, 2014
I picked up two Sherwood Wood/ABS sticks for my sons at the start of this inline hockey season (the other was a Sherwood 5100). To be honest, my kids are not nearly as picky about sticks as I am (yet); it wasn't exactly what I had planned, but they each liked a different stick, so I kept them both. After 15 games, at least 20 practices, and numerous pick-up sessions on not-so-smooth asphalt, this stick has held up well and shows very little wear. My son loves this stick, and where many of his teammates will be replacing more expensive sticks/blades after this season, he will be able to continue to use his. This stick is hard to beat on cost and durability.

Does this stick flex?
By Customer Service on March 16, 2015

Yes, it does flex. Most senior wood sticks have an 85 flex rating to them.

my son is right handed and 6 feet tall
so which stick is for him?

By Customer Service on December 3, 2014

Senior sticks are the correct choice. When you're looking at the "Options" menu on a product page, you'll see something like this: "Right - 85 Flex - P88". That's just an example of what you'd see for a Composite Stick.

The first part, "Right" indicates which hand is the bottom hand on the stick.

The second part is the stiffness rating of the shaft - the higher the number, the stiffer the shaft will be. For more information on that, please see the Hockey Stick Buying Guide. Note: Wood Sticks, such as this Sherwood Stick, do not typically have an advertised Flex rating and are typically 85 Flex in the Senior Length.

The third part is the blade pattern - P88 is a "pattern code" which represents a set of characteristics determined by the manufacturer, such as the depth of the curve, lie of the blade and relative length of the blade. You can find more information about each individual blade pattern and its specs under the "Blade Chart" tab on the product page for each stick.

I'd highly recommend taking a look at the Buying Guide that is linked to above as it will provide valuable information regarding all aspects of purchasing a hockey stick.
