Poor hip padding
November 8, 2012
The segmented padding generally allows the girdle to conform to your body. But, the legs are somewhat loose even though I bought the appropriate size. Also, and most importantly, the hip padding is very poor. The JDP hip caps are acceptable, but they incorporate almost no padding between the cap and your hip. The cap would provide good abrasion resistance but would provide almost no impact protection from a direct fall onto the hip. I have a huge hip bruise to verify that. Much more padding between the JDP hip caps and your hip is needed to make this effective. The plastic caps at the tailbone are so small that they are pretty much worthless, and the size of the pads at that spot are meager. There are no caps on the thigh, only foam. So, I'm dissappointed. This is not a highly protective piece of equipment. I think Reebok has blown this.
