this is the first "splurge" i've ever had. warning people right now to not buy these skates. i have had them almost one year now and only wear them once a week. several eyelets are missing and break randomly, rust is abound despite a relative lack of consistent moisture, the chassis is terrible - bends easily even on shots by guys who really don't shoot that hard, and i once fell when the chassis just bent from the way i pivoted while skating. the tongue is also already torn up.
lastly, the axles that come with the skates aren't long enough. i had to resort to rigging up a system and using axles from recreational skates because the ones that come with these skates will loosen and need to be retightened almost every few shifts and definitely every game. too tight and your wheels won't turn, too loose and they fall right out.
it does get 2 stars just for being very comfortable, though. i skate pretty well in them, but "they don't make them like they used to."
