Good for playing once a week
May 16, 2014
The first time I used these knee protectors I did have anything in between them and my skin and gave me a kind of rug burn after an hour of use. After I bought underarmor leggings to wear under them they were fine. I had them for about 3 months now and the seem to be holding up well for my 1 time a week use.
Pros:
Take pressure off my knees when going down and give me more protect above my knees on five hole shots.
Cons:
Gave me rug burn because they were right up on my skin

great protection

The straps did wear out after one season but now I wear them over socks and tape around the strap. they never slide on me anymore and provide great protection for my knees and thigh.

Good protection but do not stay in place
January 20, 2014
Bought these for knee protection more for dropping to the ground, I've got bad knees... . Got them on a deep discount and 1st few games they were amazing. Now that the elastic has stretched they are a chore to keep up during play and always slide down. Like other reviewers I too have come away from a game with some nasty bruising on the knees because the hard plastic knee cup isn't aligned with the knee most of the time. I'm tying to figure out how to use the straps on top to tie them up, but fear that'll cause more problems than it solves. When they fit well they were a great addition to my game, less pensive about landing hard on a knee and added a bit of rise to my butterfly. Looking for another solution though. I recommend using knee pads but not these...
Pros:
Great protection, added height to knee riser in butterfly. Lightweight
Cons:
Slide down the leg every game now. At any given whistle during the game I'm trying to pull them up which is distracting.

Shifty
November 7, 2013
These knee pads are definitely protective; but they cannot stay in one place. The straps could probably only stay tight around a sumo wrestler's legs. I tape them along with using the straps before I play; but they consistently shift down my leg and bruise my knees.
Pros:
Very protective if they can stay in position
Cons:
Too shifty to be effective

my poor knees
January 9, 2012
I used them for indoor roller, sportcourt, and each knee has two bruises on them. They kind of shifted down just a little and the curved hard plastic knee cap is what was actually hurting me knees. If they fit you well they might work, but no go for me. Good protection on them though. No fear of a slapshot to the thigh.
