Quarter Package - 3D lasted Bauer Alive composite upper with X-rib pattern
The Vapor X-rib pattern provides great support and energy return for tighter turns and quicker acceleration. Players have always expected Vapor skates to be some of the lightest on the market. With the implementation of Alive composite materials in the boot quarters, the weight of the APX skate has been dramatically reduced, while durability and performance have received a definite upgrade.
Lining Material - Hydra Max 2 liner with integrated Total Edge comfort
"Total Edge Comfort" was first introduced on the Total One Supreme skates and it was a huge hit. The top of the ankle is a fairly sensitive area. The Total Edge Comfort feature provides a soft, cushioned edge on the top lip of the boot quarters to reduce abrasion on the upper part of your ankle.
Ankle Padding - NEW Lightweight form fit foam ankle pads
The Vapor APX skates are further reduced in weight and optimized for a personalized fit with lightweight form fit ankle pads, which are fully thermoformable, ready to accommodate your individual foot shape.
Tongue Construction - Form-Fit 3 molded tongue with integrated and enhanced lace bite channel and abrasion resistant metatarsal guard
One of the great new features on the Bauer Vapor APX skates, the Form-Fit 3 tongue gives you a snug, comfortable fit with unparalleled protection from lacebite. The exposed metatarsal guard keeps the laces from digging into the tongue which eliminates lacebite and also reduces breakdown.
Footbed - Form-Fit+ with Ergotoe protection and grip, NEW integrated and customizable toe protection, moisture management and heel stabilizer
The coolest thing about this new footbed is the customizable toe protection. Bauer added 3 removable flaps on the end of the footbed which give you a little bit of extra padding between your toes and the toe cap of the boot. It's a great new feature, and just another good reason to pick up a pair of premium quality skates.
Thermoformable - Full Upper
As you would expect from a top of the line skate, the APX skates are fully thermoformable. They're incredibly comfortable right out of the box, but you'll really appreciate the personalized fit that comes from baking the Vapor APX skates.
Vapor APX Lower Features
Outsole - NEW ultra lightweight, vented carbon composite
Making a lightweight skate is great and all, but if your feet can't breathe, your skates will feel like bricks when you start to sweat. With strategically placed vents in the Vapor APX's carbon composite outsoles, your feet will stay comfortable and dry.
Blade Holder and Runner - TUUK Lightspeed 2 with TUUK LS Fusion runner
TUUK holders need no introduction... They're still the most popular choice among players of all ages and skill levels. But, the TUUK LS Fusion is new to the Bauer Vapor Skate family, just a year after having been introduced with the release of the Supreme Total One skates. LS Fusion runners are the lightest on the market and just as durable as anything else you can find.

Top End Skates
November 19, 2012
By far one of the best skates on the market. Light, responsive, protective and comfortable, these skates have it all. The only drawback is these are expensive. I personally bought a lower end model because I just can't afford to shell out seven or eight hundred bucks for a pair of new blades. The ones I bought perform just as magnificantly though and are excellent quality, because Bauer is second to none on the planet. If your feet work in Bauer skates I recommend them highly to anyone regardless of the level of skate your buying. You can't beat these for comfort and performance and durability on the ice.

Think before you purchase
January 21, 2012
My son plays colligeiate hockey, and after 8 games the APX skatest look like terrible, holes, cracks, just not holding up. He claims that he loves how they feel, and how light they are, but if you don't have a team that will replace them after 10 games, it's an expensive risky purchase

The Real Deal
December 4, 2011
These Skates are amazing i just picked these up. They have the out of the box comfort that the flexlight has but the stride of the total ones, not to mention the vapor ligtness. It is WAYYYYYYYYYYY to exspensive hey should lower the price to 200 and they would make more money.

Best Skate yet!
December 1, 2011
I am a peewee A hockey player and I think these are the best skates bauer has ever made. They are incredibly light and you only have toflick your ankles lightly to immediatly stop. It takes almost no effort to stop. Definetly buy the skates.

Great skate, horrible tongue
October 23, 2011
This skate is truly awesome. So stuff and so light it's amazing. Here's the deal though the tongue is absolutely horrible. If you've ever had lace bite problems in the past you will with this one. The change with the plastic on the outside of the tongue for the laces to slide does not work. The tongue is so thin that there's instantly pressure points for lace bite to occur. I went to my local hockey shop and had a pro stock custom tongue installed and much better. All you have to do is take a look at all of the NHL guys using these skates and see they all have different tongues. Again, great skate, but at this price consider you may have to invest more in tongues after you purchase.

The Best!
June 11, 2011
These are by far the best on the market, but they are super stiff even after heating they are going to take some time to break in, the boot cut is so much more aggresive than any I have ever worn. You feel everything your feet do, so every little movement you have goes right to the ice. I love em!

SICK!
May 2, 2011
Comfdirble but very stiff! They need a little time to brak them in, but after that, great skates. Good job Bauer! Looking to the APX stick in October!

i have wide feet...should I get the EE size or are these skates already wide enough in D size? I had Bauer before and I don't think I ever got a EE size
By Jeremiah at HockeyGiant.com on April 23, 2013
Answer:
If you have wide feet then we recommend going with EE. Vapor skates run fairly narrow in the heel and mid foot and standard width in the toe box.
