Blade patterns/curves are one of the key components that goes into selecting a hockey stick. A blade pattern is represented by a code or name, such as PM9 or Stamkos. The PM9 pattern has a set of characteristics that distinguishes it from the other patterns offered by Bauer. These characteristics include curve depth, curve type, lie, length, toe shape, and face angle. Each of the values for these attributes is "tuned" to provide a certain performance enhancement, such as puck control, shot accuracy, shot power, etc.

When selecting a hockey stick curve, each of these blade pattern attributes should be factored in and assessed as they relate to your style of play and personal preferences.
