SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Never thought I'd replace my 652's
February 4, 2017
When I transitioned from inline to ice hockey I bought my first pair of ice hockey skates. CCM 652's from Hockey Giant and they have always been like my favorite because they have always been so comfortable. 15 years have gone by and they have finally started to break down. I've only ever replaced the chassis because I took a slap shot. I've been so hesitant because the boots have changed so much to exotic composite materials and I've heard super stiff. I bought my son the new CCM upro+ and he loves them and they are sooo lite. This past Christmas Hockey Giant had a huge sale and I had been looking at CCM's updated 652 skate... the 6052 and the price was to good to pass up. Unbelievable skate!!! Tracks and skates like a dream and a little stiff the first skate but my new favorite pair of skates! Soooo comfortable and the weight reduction in today's technology is so impressive. I will be on these skates for a long time!!! Thanks to CCM and Hockey Giant for your expertise and legendary customer service!!! A+

How tall are the skate blades? What is the radius profile of the skates right out of the box?
By Customer Service on August 4, 2014

The runner isn't any taller than any of the other runners you've seen, but the holder is 4.0 mm taller than prior CCM Holders. The total height varies from size to size though. The radius of the runners is said to be 9'.

Can you bake these at home to custom fit?
Is this the lightest CCM skate?
By Customer Service on May 18, 2015

These skates can be baked at home using a hair dryer for a custom fit. The Tacks line of CCM skates are generally going to be the heavier of their two lines that CCM has, the other being the CCM Ribcor line.

How does the sizing of the modern Tacks compare to the sizing of the Tacks from the past? Can I expect to wear the same size as my 11 year old pair of 1052s?
By Customer Service on November 17, 2014

They're going to fit more like a Bauer Supreme Skate. They're slightly narrower than the old Tacks, but I think you'll find that they now offer a far superior fit, particularly once you've had them baked.

How much difference us there between the 6052's and the 5052's

By Customer Service on January 5, 2015

The main differences are found in the outsole and quarter package. The 6052 boots are made with stiffer, lighter materials that hold up a bit better for aggressive, competitive skaters. That being said, the 5052 skates are a great choice for 90% of the players out there. Unless you're either heavy, skate many times per week or simply put a lot of stress on your skates and require the very best, the 5052 Skates should do the job. The 6052 skates will simply provide longer lasting support and will feel lighter on your feet.

Should we use special insert footbed (Superfeet) with theses new TACKS ?
By Customer Service on October 21, 2014

You certainly can use the Superfeet. The footbeds included work for most people, but the Superfeet footbeds have a great reputation for providing an excellent, comfortable fit.
