CCM RBZ Skates are built for "Freakishly Fast" speed, reaching toward the same goal as the popular RBZ Stick line which was first introduced in 2012. The RBZ Skates are CCM's most advanced model to date and react to heat molding, arguably, better than any skate on the market. Fit is, of course, important to every player, but some have gotten into the habit of sacrificing a truly proper fit in exchange for top notch technology and a reduction in overall weight. Big mistake! Who says you can't have a high performance skate that actually fits YOUR feet? Now you can, with the RBZ. The outer quarter package is made with CCM's Action Form Composite construction complemented by their inner Speedcore Technology. These two components are the key to that truly accurate fit that sacrifices nothing in the way of performance - to the contrary, you'll find that the level of fit accuracy you can achieve with these skates will give you a performance enhancement that you've not experienced before.

In addition to the personalized boot fit, CCM produced a new insole/footbed that comes in 3 different arch heights to ensure that every player can get the very most out of his RBZ skates. The fact is, if parts of your soles are not making proper contact with the boot beneath them, you aren't skating at full speed-capacity. A better connection with your boots means better control and power, which produces quicker, faster feet.

The RBZ skates also feature high density memory foam in the ankles to compound the fit benefits substantially. The foam pads are highly thermoformable and react to heat molding in a truly unique way; if you wore the U+ Skates with U Foam, you'll notice a difference between those and the RBZ skates right out of the box as the ankle padding is much more comfortable right out of the box even before you bake them. The Felt Tongue with Pro Injected Foam provides excellent lace bite protection and a truly comfortable coverage for your ankles and the tops of your feet.

When it comes to hockey skates, speed alone isn't worth a dime without agility and control. Not to worry, the CCM RBZ Skates have been engineered specifically to help you harness top speeds and full control of your edges. The new CCM SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder is 4.0mm taller than traditional holders, which will allow you to turn tighter and faster than ever before without bottoming out. The new CCM HyperGlide Runner is made of lightweight, high quality polished stainless steel. The deep polish is said to help you glide with greater ease because of the reduced friction between the blade and ice.

If you're looking for speed, look no further than the new CCM RBZ Skates.

CCM RBZ Senior Hockey Skate Sizing Chart

CCM recommends that if you have been wearing prior CCM Skate models, you may want to go down an additional 1/2 size in order to get the best fit with the RBZ Skates. The new CCM RBZ Skates have a deeper heel pocket which adds a bit of extra length to the boot. This is why you may want to consider going an additional 1/2 size down.

So, if you previously wore size 9.0 CCM Skates, size 8.5 in the RBZ may provide the best fit. Go 2 sizes down from your U.S. Shoe Size rather than 1.5 sizes down. Keep in mind, personal preference does still apply. All information in this sizing chart is to be used as a general guide and does not ensure an exact fit.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Very good skates
May 7, 2015
These are my first pair of skates at this price point and they met all of my expectations. I got a pretty hefty discount on them which made them a heck of a value. I was very surprised how well they react to heat molding. The boot becomes very pliable and truly molds to your feet. After they cool, they regain the vast majority of their stiffness. I won't say all of their stiffness, but about 90% or so. The tongue is also pretty impressive. I haven't had any lace bite and the protection offered by the tongue is very good. I previously had a pair of Bauer Nexus skates and I feel the transition between these skate brands/lines wasn't too difficult. At the time of this post I've had my RBZ's for about a month and skates 5-6 times in them in beer league and pick up games. My only complaint is I wish these had the lace locks on them like the Ribcore line does. Overall, I am very happy with these skates and if you are looking to move up from a mid-price point line of skates to a high price point line, you won't be upset at the quality of these skates. Given the ridiculous discounts on these at the moment, this skate is a great value.
Quality construction, heat moldable, great tongue.

After being on these for a short period of time, there is a notable difference in the turning capability of the new holder. It took about an hour to adjust to the taller profile. Still curious how well the polished blades will hold their edge over some of CCM's other materials. I came out of CCM U10's into the RBZ and am very impressed with the fit, finish and feel; and the fact CCM was able to improve on something so comfortable and form fitting to begin with. With that being said, you need to try these on extensively and spend a good deal of time around the shop in them. My only slight against CCM and the RBZ line, is their playing with their sizing guidelines. I wear an 11.5 US shoe, wore a 10D in the U+/Reebok lines and wear a 9D in the RBZ. The skate fits my foot in amazingly well and am looking forward to the final product post break in. It's debatable if the skate is $900/$750 amazing, but that seems to be the price point for a pro level skate. My final thought is if you are looking for a skate that is amazingly comfortable, light, & appears to be built incredibly well, this is your skate! My hope is I get the time out of these that I got from my U+ skates.

CCM Back in the Game!
October 18, 2013
I am coming off using the CCM Crazy Lights (and the CCM Super Tacks 992 befiore that), and I have to say these skates are way better. I started looking in to the Bauer Vapor X7.0s after my brother got a pair that I tried on (he has narrower feet than I). I like my CLs as they are very quick but they do not have the same comfort or control as the RBZs (the RBZs feel more like the Vapor X7.0s out of the box). I assume its the pitch forward created by raising the tower 4mil that really helps me feel supported and ready to go at all times. No matter what move I am making these skates always seem to have the edge in full contact with the ice. Battling in the corner has become easier, exploding down the ice, and stopping on a dime. I honestly feel like I am cheating by using these skates. Furthermore, the captain of my men's team even noticed how much stronger I was skating. I always figured reviewers who made this kind of comment were newer to the game, but I have skated since I was 2-years old, I played Junior and college hockey, and though I am 42 now, I still play a hard grinding style of hockey (gotta keep the kids on their toes!). If you're looking for a high end skate, I believe CCM is truly back in the game. Good luck!

What about width? Do the D's run a little wider or more narrow, combined with the deeper heel cup?
By Customer Service on March 6, 2015

D (standard) width skates are narrower than EE (wide) skates. Relative to most other skate models, the RBZ tends to run just a bit wider. The width is comparable to the Bauer Nexus Skates.

I am a 9 1/2 E shoe (high arch), are the CCM RBZ true to to size or should I go a size smaller as is the case with most skates. Also, you mention different size arch supports, are they included with the purchase of the skates or separately?
By Customer Service on December 23, 2013

The skates come with the medium arches. The other arch sizes are available separately. With the RBZ skates, go down 2 sizes from your U.S. shoe size. So if you wear size 9.5 E U.S. Shoes, you would want to go with the 7.5 EE CCM RBZ skates.
