CCM RBZ Junior Hockey Skate Sizing Chart

CCM recommends that if you have been wearing prior CCM Skate models, you may want to go down an additional 1/2 size in order to get the best fit with the RBZ Skates. The new CCM RBZ Skates have a deeper heel pocket which adds a bit of extra length to the boot. This is why you may want to consider going an additional 1/2 size down.

So, if you previously wore size 9.0 CCM Skates, size 8.5 in the RBZ may provide the best fit. Go 2 sizes down from your U.S. Shoe Size rather than 1.5 sizes down. Keep in mind, personal preference does still apply. All information in this sizing chart is to be used as a general guide and does not ensure an exact fit.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

I have an 8 year old daughter that is moving into Jr sized skates. She is 4'-5" and weighs between 70 and 75 lbs. She is a technically good skater, so I want her to have a good boot. Would these be too stiff for her? Should I consider the 70's?
By Customer Service on April 4, 2014

Answer:
Either model will work well for her. Since she is light and girls tend to put their skates through less abuse, the RBZ 70 Skates ought to serve her well, but she may find that she likes the added support of the RBZ 80 Skates once they fully break in.

What does the RBZ 80 offer that the RBZ 70 does not (this really is a question for the entire RBZ line although my curiosity is with the junior level)? What justifies the price difference? Are they lighter? Stiffer? If so, how much lighter? How much stiffer? And what makes them that way? Different materials?
By Customer Service on January 21, 2015

Answer:
Yes, the RBZ 80 Skates are lighter and stiffer, which is as you said, the result of the different materials used in constructing each of the boots and outsoles. Surlyn (RBZ 80) is a more expensive composite blend than the tech mesh material used in the RBZ 70 Boots, and it will maintain its rigidity and support longer.

The outsole of the RBZ is also made with composite fibers which are more supportive and lighter in weight than the TPU outsoles of the RBZ 70 Skates.

Also, the RBZ 80 Skates have the new SpeedBlade holders and Runners which are stronger, lighter and put the skater up higher off the ice than the traditional E Pro Holders used on the RBZ 70 Skates. The runners on the RBZ 70 Skates are actually a tad bit lighter due to the perforations in the steel, but the weight difference is negligible.

The RBZ 80 Skates also have an upgraded footbed and tongue which provide some additional comfort and protection, respectively.

By Customer Service on July 25, 2013
