SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Perfect for your little one

My five year old loves these skates. We got them almost a year ago and even though he skates 2/3 times a week, the blade and skate are still in perfect condition. Fits perfectly and I don't worry about injury due to wobbly ankles.

My son is 7yr and shoe size is 2.5 what is the equivalent size in the Bauer vapor x30 youth hockey skate? Thanks!
By Customer Service on February 19, 2015

Skates generally fit 1-1.5 sizes below a players shoe size. Since he is young, and still growing, it would probably be better to only go down 1 size to compensate for his growth so the skates last him a little longer. With a size 2.5 shoe, he will most likely be best in a size 1.5-2.0 skate which would be a junior sized skate, not a youth.

Is this size 6 a toddler size 6? I am looking for a skate for a 2 year old and he wears a size 6 in toddlers.
By Customer Service on October 8, 2014

These are indeed toddler sizes, but hockey skate sizing is a little different. To get the correct skate size, you go 1 to 1.5 sizes down from U.S. Shoe Size. So, he would actually need a size 5.0, but that size isn't currently available from any of the major manufacturers. 6.0 is typically the smallest size they make. But, with extra socks for now, and a few months of growth, the 6.0 will fit him just fine.
