The Bauer Vapor APX2 Skates deliver the highest level of performance and quality that you can find anywhere today. Retaining all of the best qualities of the original APX skates, the APX2 skates have also been upgraded in several notable ways. Starting with the new holder, Bauer has introduced the TUUK Lightspeed Edge with its unique trigger release mechanism which allows the player to quickly and easily change out his steel in just a few seconds. The Lightspeed Edge Holder is also built with an additional 3mm in height to increase the skater's attack angle on tight turns. Along with the Lightspeed Edge Holders, you'll also find the lightweight TUUK LS Fusion Runners which are 27% lighter than traditional stainless steel runners.

Another brand new feature that you'll only find on the Vapor APX2 Skates is the Injected Stability Lacing System. What Bauer has created here is a one-piece eyelet strip constructed with the same durable material used to build Tuuk holders, which is triple stitched to ensure that it is stable and secure to provide the greatest amount of energy-return with each stride. This design is the first of its kind and delivers a substantial performance enhancement.

As you would expect with any top of the line model from Bauer, the APX2 Skates are also built with Bauer's best current features, including Curv® Composite quarters, the Hydra Max 2 Liner, Total Edge Comfort, Form-Fit 3 Tongues and Form-Fit+ Footbeds with Ergo Toe Protection. Each of these features provide the maximum amount of durability, support and performance value that Bauer has to offer, giving elite level skaters the edge they need over the competition.

Bauer Vapor APX2 Senior Ice Hockey Skates

CURV® COMPOSITE UPPER
The X-rib design provides structural support for faster acceleration and quicker turns. The angle of the boot is cut aggressively to allow greater forward flex.

INJECTED STABILITY LACING SYSTEM
Innovative one-piece construction maximizes energy return and provides increased stability throughout the life of the skate and explosive energy transfer with every stride. The new stability lacing system reduces the amoint of total energy lost vs. traditional construction allowing the player to exit turns faster while increasing acceleration for more energy transfer to the ice. The new lacing system will help make each crossover quicker allowing the player to experience faster feet for maximum on-ice performance.

HYDRA-MAX 2 LINER
Moisture wicking and abrasion-resistant with integrated comfort wrap. The Total Edge Comfort minimizes wear and tear around the top of the ankle.

TUUK LIGHTSPEED EDGE
The new Lightspeed Edge holder is designed and developed to provide a greater angle of attack through an increase of 3mm in overall height. The player benefit is sharper, tighter turns due to having a greater ability to get lower in the turn without "bottoming out". The Tuuk Lightspeed Edge also features an innovative trigger system that allows the player to change his steel in a matter of seconds without missing a shift or playing any time.

TUUK LS FUSION BLADE
Revolutionary runner design fusing the strength and performance of Bauer's elite stainless steel with high-grade aluminum, reducing the weight of the runner by 27%.

FORM-FIT+ FOOTBED WITH ERGO TOE PROTECTION
Form-Fit+ performance with enhanced comfort in the toe area. The toe-protection feature can be customized to a specific player's needs.

SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 7 to 13 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 2 to 7 years old with a US youth shoe size of 7 to 1.5.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Best skates forever
August 27, 2014
I loved the original APX. I didn't really need to get the APX2, but the thicker tongue made the APX2 the greatest skates I've ever worn. The Edge system is an added bonus of having a fresh cut waiting in my bag whenever necessary.
Pros:
Elite conformability. Light weight and durable. Most appealing colors and graphic design of the whole Vapor line to date.

Excellent Skates!
August 20, 2014
I would recommend these skates for everyone. They fitted perfectly after molding and felt great within the 1st 2 skates. Very light and with the higher holder/runner made it easier to turn, change directions, etc..
Pros:
Light, comfortable, fits like a glove

Best skates ever
June 24, 2014
These skates are AMAZING! Baked them when I got them and used them the next two days straight and absolutely no break in time needed. They felt great! The only thing that was a bit of an adjustment was the taller holder/runner. Other than that they are worth every penny!
Pros:
Lightweight, stiff, no break in time needed, allows more agile turns

Expensive skates but worth every penny
May 18, 2013
Hands down the most comfortable skate i have ever owned. I have a wider foot so the Vapor line has the best fit for me, wide toe box, not overly stiff like the Total One NXG is, less of a break in period needed as well because its not as stiff as the NXG. Compared to the NXG and the Nexus this is better in my opinion, tailored to fit all types of feet where the NXG are more for higher insteps and narrow feet and the Nexus are for thick, wide feet. The APX 2 has more of a universal feel and a wide toe cap which adds to the comfort of the skate, and it really just hugs your feet in the perfect areas like your mid-high ankle and mid foot/instep area. Great skate overall. I would recommend to anyone who plays a high level of hockey, and is also not worried about the price as all of the top of the line skates are expensive now. If you're a beer league guy and want a good skate I would get the Vapor X 7.0, still a great skate at the 450 price point.

Tried these skates on and they fit well in the ankle and toe box. There was pain on the arch on the inside of the left foot. Will that bake out? Also, currently use the vapor x7.0 in a 7 EE and tried on a 7 D in the also since my heel moves in current skate. Will there be a big difference in stiffness as well? My foot is wide in the instep but narrow in the heel.

Answer:
I would recommend going with the D Width if it fits well in all areas except the arch. If you have a local hockey shop, you can take the skates there to have them baked and then you can have the arches "punched out", meaning they well put your skates in a reverse vice grip of sorts, which pushes out the part of the skate where your feet are being pinched.

It appears that the ankle/heel is contoured for support. More so than any of the previous lines, is this correct?
By Pat@HockeyGiant on July 18, 2013

Answer:
The Bauer Vapor APX2 skate has the same contour and support of the original Bauer Vapor APX skate.

What size of a Tuuk holder on a size 8.5 EE APX2 skates?
By Customer Service on June 24, 2013

Answer:
Most likely 280mm, but the best way to check is to look at the number printed on your holder between the back rivets near the heel.
