Good coverage
January 27, 2016
It provides good coverage for the most part. I need to buy a neck guard to protect the gap in neck area, but I think the gap will shrink when my son gets a little bigger.

Great Place to Start
December 22, 2015
The Bauer Classic chesty, is a great place to start when it comes to investing some money in your first set of gear. I would not recommend this for someone playing ice hockey at upper levels of play. This is a good place to start in a junior/youth league, perfect for street hockey with plastic pucks/balls. I would not use this where stopping a solid rubber puck at 40 MPH or greater is common. You will feel it through the pads; it will sting. This was bought for a street hockey league that uses plastic pucks. It moves well, is lightweight, and our goaltenders that use it, like the fit. It is not overly bulky, light weight, and does the job for their level of play.
Fits well Light weight Not too bulky Good for starter gear at a youth level on ice. Great for Street/Roller hockey

Great Price and features.

This is a great quality CP for entry-intermediate use. My only issue, and maybe its because i dont have it fully adjusted, but the shoulder pad gets in the way of my helmet turning to either side.

I'm almost 5'6" so should I stick with a Small or Medium size?

By Customer Service on March 23, 2015

You would be better off going with the size Small.

is this product for ice hockey

By Customer Service on July 20, 2015

It "can" be used for ice hockey, but if you're playing in any type of division where guys are taking slap shots or hard snappers, we would strongly recommend upgrading to the Bauer Supreme ONE.7 Chest & Arm Protector.

I am six feet, two inches, two hundred, and forty pounds. Will an extra large fit me?

By Customer Service on January 12, 2015

Yes, the X-Large should be a good fit for you, provided that your weight is fairly well-distributed. If you're extremely top heavy, it will likely be a snug fit.

By Jim from Pittsburgh on February 16, 2015
Is this chest protector heavy duty enough to withstand shots from an adult hockey shot with an inline hockey puck?
By Customer Service on February 16, 2015

Yes, that would be a great application for it.

I'm looking for a lightweight non bulky chest/arm protector . It's between this one and the Bauer Performance for 149 . I'm a light to moderate Deck /roller hockey , ball & puck goaly . Which one do you feel would best suit my needs ? Also I'm lefty so I'm wondering if the arm pads can be adjusted for my left handed blocker ? I'm 5/8 & 1/2 , 170 lbs so I'm assuming I'm a senior medium ? Thank you .
By Customer Service on August 7, 2014

Yes, senior medium would be the best choice in most models. The Bauer Classic would actually be the best option for you. It's very affordable and offers a great balance of protection and breathability along with being fairly lightweight. Each arm is the same length, so it will work for Regular and Full Right goalies just the same.

What are the differences, if any, between the Bauer Classic and the Reebok AB XPulse SR Pro? I currently have the XPulse, but I feel like it decreases mobility. I am looking for a lighter, less-bulky protector.
By Customer Service on April 22, 2015

The Bauer Classic will be a lot easier to move in, however, that is the only positive aspect it has over the Reebok. Past Reebok chest and arm protectors had a bad reputation of not having a good range of motion because they were so stiff, which matches up with what you are saying as well. The Classic will not be nearly as protective as the Reebok, and the materials used in the Classic will be sub-par to the Reebok as well. If you want to get a chest and arm protector that is very similar to the Reebok you have, I would recommend going with one of the Bauer Reactor Senior Chest and Arm Protectors.

I am between 6 foot and 6 foot 1 inch and 190-195 lbs. So I'm assuming that the arm lengths get a little longer between the large and X-large. I don't want the sleeves to be too long to interfere so should I stick with the Large instead of the X-large?
By Customer Service on March 13, 2015

I would go with the Large. The Bauer Classic has fixed arm lengths so the X-Large will likely be too long and bulky for you.
