SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Good skate for beginners
July 23, 2015
I purchased this skate for my first season of ice hockey as an adult (having not skated since I was a kid). For this purpose, they worked very well. They are comfortable out of the box, without baking, and seem pretty durable as well. They don't offer much protection, and shots to the feet hurt. As an advanced skater, I've been told I don't know what I'm missing out on from more expensive skates, so I've decided to upgrade. That being said, I will be keeping these as a good backup skate and I highly recommend them considering the low price. If you are playing in a novice league, twice a week or less, these will do just fine.
Cheap, durable, comfortable

This product is great. My husband loves these skates. Very comfortable and true to size. I was afraid they wouldn't fit right or may not come in time for the event but they did. Hockey giant is a great company the skates came next day and are perfect.

Love Bauers, like the Supremes, but this is a poor skate
July 5, 2015
The skate is not very sturdy, so I don't recommend it for playing in a league that may involve hard shots. Plus, it doesn't lock the heel very well so I don't recommend it for playing in ANY league. But, then again, it's a cheap skate.
It's a Bauer, so it's generally built durably.

These are my first pair of ice hockey skates, though I've played roller hockey for years. They are nice looking and work great. My only gripe is the insole it comes with might as well just be a piece of paper. Easily fixed though.
Great for the price.

Great for beginners and mid-level skaters
March 15, 2015
I bought these for myself and have to say the product exceeded my expectations. Well, how much should one expect from $40 skates. In fact, they are 1) very light-weight but solidly built , 2) comfortable, 3) predictable. I am not a pro skater but skate every winter and I am glad I bought these skates. Would certainly recommend these.
light-weight, inexpensive, quality-built

Quite comfortable

First off very affordable, boot is quite comfortable but be mindful of the edge you get as with any other skate. Very light skates, good comfort!

Great Skate

Very comfortable skate, using for recreational skating, but don't see why it wouldn't be a great hockey players skate and the price can't be beat.

Perfect First Pair
December 7, 2014
I bought these skates for my first pair of ice hockey skates. New to Ice I wasn't aware that I needed to sharpen them so I skated without sharpening. I obviously recommend getting them sharpened. However, the boot itself is more comfortable from any inline skate I've owned. I went with Bauer because the popularity of the name and it highly paid off without breaking the bank.

Supreme skates
December 1, 2014
Decent skate but feels okay when stepping on the ice. Didn't really like the material on the tongue of the skate though. Falls off a lot and sticks to hand a little bit.
Good feel even though I bought the wrong size.

Great Entry Level Skate

Great comfort and function for the price. Don't respond to baking so break-in the old fashioned way. Don't expect super long life but you will be satisfied with the life you get.

These skates were my very first pair and I was happy about them ever since I took them out of the box. Awesome padding throughout the entire skates. Extremely comfortable. Really really great skates for beginners. Highly recommended. The style of the boot is pretty cool too.

Would this be a good skate for a kid age 12-13 who skates 2-3 days a week. But has a VERY strict budget of lowest possible to maybe 90 or 100 if I get lucky.
By Customer Service on January 30, 2014

The One.4 Skates aren't a bad choice for beginner skaters. But, if you're playing at a competitive level, A, AA or higher, the boot will likely wear down in one season or less because players at that level put a fairly substantial amount of extra stress on their skates. Since your 12-13, you're probably still growing, which means that you may only use the skates for one season anyhow.

Will these skates arrive already sharpened?
By Customer Service on March 10, 2014

Yes, if you order Skate Sharpening Service we will sharpen them before shipping them out.

By Rob C from San Francisco, California on May 13, 2014
My skates arrived, but overlooked the sharpening service when I placed my order. Do you recommend sharpening before use, or are they good to go for recreational ice skating?
By Customer Service on May 21, 2014

They need to be sharpened before you skate with them. They come with a dull factory edge.

By Landon from Orange, CA on May 13, 2014
This is my first pair of skates and I get really bad cramps in the arch of my feet when skating. My friends who play hockey suggested getting them baked. Can these be baked to help with the fit and feel?
By Customer Service on May 21, 2014

This particular model doesn't respond to baking. But, after about 5 hours of skating, they ought to break in and become much more comfortable.

Are the runners replacable
By Customer Service on March 13, 2014

The Lightspeed Pro Holders do not allow for runner replacement. You'll need the Lightspeed 2 or Lightspeed Edge Holders for that capability.

I am looking to buy my husband a pair of these. He wears a size 11 shoe. According to the sizing guide, a size 9 is a good fit. Is the sizing guide accurate? If they are too snug can I exchane them for a larger size?
By Customer Service on December 18, 2014

9 may be a bit snug if he's just starting out and wants a comfortable fit. Size 9.5 D or even 10.0 D may be a better choice.

The two links I've provided will show you all of the skates available in those sizes under $200.

Could you recommend a beginners hockey skate for a 15 year old boy. He is just learning how to skate. Thanks!

By Customer Service on February 12, 2014

The Supreme One.4 Skates are actually a good choice for beginners. If he's playing in a hockey league, they will likely need to be replaced after one season because they aren't particularly stiff. As he progresses in his skating, you'll want to consider going up a model or two in the Supreme line (around the $100 - $150 range) when you make your next purchase so that he has additional support and protection.

By Brandon from Detroit on September 30, 2015
It says these are not able to be baked in the specs? I ordered a pair and they are a bit big in the ankle area. Any recommendations?
By Customer Service on September 30, 2015

There are a few things you could try.

First, get a pair of waxed laces so that you can tighten the upper eyelets more securely.

Second, take a pair of knee-length, or at least-calf length, socks and cut off the feet. Then you can wear the calf portion over your ankles to take up some of the extra space in the boot.

Lastly, there are heel inserts which will lift your heel a small amount and help to fill some of the extra space as well. This may even be accomplished by purchasing a different set of footbeds that are thicker than the ones included with the skates.

I'm a size 13 in U.S shoe size and had never worn skates ever, what skate size would you recommend for the Bauer Supreme ONE.4 Senior Ice Hockey skates?
By Customer Service on November 30, 2014

11.5 would be the best choice. It ought to provide a comfortable, snug fit. Keep in mind that if you've never worn hockey skates before, it's going to be a little uncomfortable until they break in. Give the skates 3 to 5 hours for a proper break-in.

By Bowie from NJ on May 29, 2014
I take a woman's size 9 and one half. (Yeah, I wear men's hockey skates). What size would fit me?
By Customer Service on May 30, 2014

6.5 or 7 would provide the best fit. If you like a snug fit, 6.5. If you prefer to have a little more room, 7.0 would be the way to go.

By Renee from St. John indiana on February 8, 2015
I am looking for skates for my boys. I have a 15 year old boy size 10.5 shoe
A 14 year old boy size 7.5 shoe
10 year old boy size 5 shoe and two 12 year old boys size 8
0what do you recommend in beginner skates for back yard pond?

By Customer Service on February 9, 2015

One.4 Skates are a great choice for pond hockey. The general rule with hockey skate sizing is to go 1 to 1.5 sizes down from U.S. Shoe Size.

15-Year-Old w/ Size 10.5 Shoes : Size 9.0 or 9.5 Senior Skates
14-Year-Old w/ Size 7.5 Shoes : Size 6.0 or 6.5 Senior Skates
12-Year-Olds w/ Size 8.0 Shoes : Size 6.5 or 7.0 Senior Skates
10-Year-Old w/ Size 5 Shoes : Size 3.5 or 4.0 Junior Skates

If they're all still growing, you'll probably just want to go 1 size down from shoe size to account for the growth they'll experience over the next year or so while wearing the skates. That way they'll get a little more use out of the skates.

When you get to the Senior Hockey Skates and Junior Hockey Skates category pages, if you're on a desktop/laptop computer, you can use the filters on the left side of the page to find skates that are available in each of the sizes you need.
