SENIOR Hockey Skates
Senior hockey skates are sized to fit adults and full grown teenagers with a Men's US shoe size of 7 or greater.

JUNIOR Hockey Skates
Junior hockey skates are sized to fit kids in the range of approximately 8 to 12 years old with a US shoe size of 2 to 6.5.

YOUTH Hockey Skates
Youth hockey skates are sized to fit toddlers and young children in the age range of approximately 9 years old and younger with a US youth shoe size of 1.5 or smaller.

*Female Skaters*
The difference between men's shoes and women's shoes is 1.5 to 2 sizes. So, if you wear size 9 women's shoes, that translates to a men's size 7.5 or 7.0, which would put you in a size 6 senior hockey skate. More simply put, go 3 sizes down from your women's shoe size in order to find your hockey skate size.

Finally, a skater friendly skate
April 23, 2013
I followed Alkali's baking guidelines posted on youtube and was I ever rewarded with great fit. Heel and ankle lock are superb. Gone are the other skates, "Bump" or "Bloody Ankle" that you were supposed to, "Get used to." I found the quality built chassis and angled boot made my feet more responsive, and faster. Boot is top shelf quality. I'm a believer. Buy them. Period.

Great skate

Overall this is a great skate for a beginner to mid level skater
Pros:
Very Stiff Great wheels and bearings Fits like a glove when baked Great laces Bad @$$
Cons:
Tongue wears over time, causes mild lacebite Takes a little to a adjust to all 80mm, but worth it

Great deal for the intermediate player
May 12, 2014
I purchased these skates about a month ago and I love them! I was in the market for a $200 skate. I was dead set on the Bauer XR4 because of the great reviews and they went on clearance. However, I couldn't find them in my size anywhere. That's when I stumbled upon these babies. I noticed a lot of the important features (wheels, bearings, last quality) were comparable to the XR4 plus the tongue seemed to be better padded. I decided to give Alkali a shot since these skates were also on clearance at an unbeatable price. I have to say this skate is AWESOME!! I baked them in my regular oven for about 9 minutes and the fit was incredible. Then I skated with them and couldn't believe how much better they were all around than my entry level skates. I swapped out the wheels right away because the stock ones are for indoor hockey and I've been playing mostly outdoor but aside from that I wouldn't change a thing. I would definitely recommend these to anyone in the market for an intermediate level skate. Even though most sizes are already sold out, the Alkali RPD Comp seems to be the next generation version of this skate and it's reasonably priced.

Is the sizing on these skates a size and a half down from your standard shoe size? Example, I wear a US size 13-14 mens. So I would get an 11.5-12 in this skate?
By Jeremiah at HockeyGiant.com on July 2, 2013

Answer:
Yes, 1 to 1.5 sizes down from Men's US Shoe Size.
